As Covid-19 stay-at-home orders were first implemented, our cofounder Nick experienced dozens of his favorite NYC Farmers Market producers disappear overnight. With nowhere to turn for high quality locally sourced proteins, Nick decided to put matters into his own hands.

As meat processing centers began shutting down, our country ran into a huge issue: lack of quality American-raised meat. Our cofounder Joey saw many of his local Northern Michigan family farms close, unable to serve high quality protein to the families in need across our nation. Joey could not accept seeing the very backbone of our nation, our farmers, shut down.

One summer night, longtime friends Joey and Nick connected and shared their mutual frustrations. That was the night Wagyu Republic was born – the only America-first business with the ambition to empower thousands of passionate ranchers across our country.
